Booking Terms & Conditions

  • All accounts must be paid prior to departure unless written agreement has been made with our accounts department at least six weeks in advance.
  • We accept access, visa, switch, travellers’ cheques (sterling) and personal cheques up to the maximum value of your bank guarantee card.
  • Company cheques must be presented at least ten days in advance.
  • All credit accounts must be paid in full within 10 days of departure.
  • Rooms may be re-let after 6pm unless confirmation is received by hotel.
  • Where possible, specially requested rooms will be reserved, but we retain the right to substitute rooms of a similar standard should circumstances necessitate alteration.
  • Non-arrival charges will apply for the first night only, for confirmed bookings. The full rate will be charged, less any deposit paid and the remaining balance will be invoiced or charged to the credit card number given, as confirmation of booking.
  • All cancellations must be notified in writing.
  • All deposits are non-refundable.
  • We recommend you take out holiday cancellation insurance cover.
  • The following charges may be made for cancellation or curtailment of stay:-
    • Over 4 weeks otice: NIL
    • 2-4 weeks: 40%
    • 1-2 weeks’ notice: 60%
    • Under 1 weeks’ notice: 100%
  • In the event of accommodation which has been reserved being cancelled is desired to draw attention to the fact that the hotel has the right in law to claim or re-imbursed for any loss resulting from the cancellation, deposits are non-refundable.
  • Payment by cheque will only be accepted to the value of a bankers card or can be repaid 10 days prior to arrival.
  • Please note: It is the Ruskin’s policy to decline any bookings of single sex parties, no matter what size – failure to comply with the policy may lead to refusal to register on arrival at the hotel. We are a ‘family and couple’ orientated hotel.
